Costs

We aim to be transparent when managing your legal costs

During your fixed fee initial consultation, you will be provided with an estimate of the fees to be included in respect of your matter.

You can instruct us according to your budget whether it is to simply seek advice, prepare your case and/or represent you at court.

We work with extremely experienced and expert family counsel who are keen to provide fixed fees for representation at court, meaning that we will endeavour to provide you with a fixed fee for work conducted whenever possible.

You will be provided with a monthly invoice and any change to the fixed fee/estimate of costs provided will be communicated to you before extra work is undertaken so that you do not receive any unpleasant surprises.

If necessary, we can work with litigation funding specialists to seek external funding of your case by way of a loan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Financial disclosure is the process of sharing full, frank details of your income, property, debts and other assets. This allows both parties to negotiate from an informed position, with all the facts on the table. Full disclosure is required whether you settle or go to court.

If one spouse tries to conceal money, transfer assets, or provide misleading information, the court can take serious action. This may include penalties, adverse inferences, or setting aside agreements. We use specialist tools and orders to identify and expose hidden assets.

Hidden assets can be traced through bank statements, company records, property searches and forensic accounting. We work with experts who are experienced in identifying unusual financial patterns. The courts also have powers to compel disclosure where necessary.

The court can order disclosure of key financial information, and penalise a party if they refuse to provide what is requested. The court can also draw cost consequences if a spouse or civil partner simply refuses to comply. We work to ensure that your spouse or civil partner is kept to their obligations.

Yes, financial orders can be reopened if it is proven that assets were deliberately concealed during the original proceedings. Courts take non-disclosure very seriously. We help you take swift action to correct unfair outcomes.
