Will Drafting Pricing

The prices and timescales in this document are indicative.

Supplementary matters
Our will-drafting services do not include the following:

Capacity Assessment£250 plus VATOrganising an assessment of capacity with a third-party specialist if reasonably required
Severing a Joint Tenancy £150 plus VATApplies if you jointly own a property as joint tenants and you wish to deal with your own individual share of the property in your will.
Letter of Wishes (of a reasonable length)£250 plus VATApplies if you are including a trust where trustees have flexibility regarding distributing assets, you are disinheriting somebody, or you are leaving your personal possessions to someone and
Will Storage and/or Registration£75 plus VATOrganising storage and/or registration of the will with Certainty (the provider of the National Will Register) or for organising storage with the Probate Registry.

 

If instructions and/or execution need to take place outside of our office, we charge for our fee earner’s travel time at the rate of £105 plus VAT per hour. You also agree to pay our reasonable travel costs.


Third-party charges are not included, such as the costs of a third-party capacity assessment, the costs of will storage with a third-party, the costs of registration with Certainty if desired, and the cost of copies of the property register.


Our fixed fees do not extend to any part of the work that becomes unreasonably excessive or that a solicitor in our position would not have reasonably foreseen as being required.
