Alastair Geoffrey Dobbie

Alastair has worked at Shortlands since 2016, specialising in complex commercial, corporate, company and Chancery matters, with a particular expertise in high-value financial disputes and property claims. He advises businesses, investors and individuals on challenging commercial and contractual issues, restructuring, insolvency-related matters, and urgent litigation.

Alastair has represented hundreds of investors in complex property disputes and is recognised for handling high-impact litigation involving large groups of claimants. His practice also includes family business disputes arising from divorce, as well as obtaining urgent High Court and County Court remedies, including freezing injunctions, disclosure orders and passport orders. He is known for delivering practical, strategic advice in complex and time-sensitive cases.

Alastair holds a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford (2.1). He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2006 and Roll of Solicitors in 2014.
